Gonny van der Maten is a musician working in a large scale of area’s. She gives solo organ recitals, is cantor-organist, conductor and teacher. In addition she composes and recites poetry and short stories at her concerts. She is also active as organizer of concerts as Board member of the Dutch Association of Organists and Church musicians, and Chairman of the Andriessen/De Klerk Foundation in Haarlem (Holland).
She was born in Amsterdam where she studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory with organ professor Albert de Klerk (Cum laude).
Currently she is Cantor – organist of the Old Church in Soest, where she is responsible for all music in this church.
She gave recitals on most of the famous Dutch historical and modern organs (Haarlem, Alkmaar, Utrecht, Leeuwarden, Zutphen, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Maastricht etc).
In 2015 she completed a study choral conducting at the conservatory of Utrecht.
In 2009 she got a bronze medal awarded bij the French Société académique d’éducation et d’encouragement “Arts – Sciences – Lettres” in Paris.
